Around The World” Anns Meet at the Anands
If you are a gourmet cook, who loves to travel around the world and also have a penchant for collecting accessories while you are at it, the theme based lunch hosted by Minakshi Anand at her residence on 26th July would have been perfect for you!
The theme being “Around the world”, Anns were asked to put together a costume with as many international accessories as possible. We had a very authentic Japanese Anjana in a fiery red Kimono (did she fit the part & how!), a very lively gypsy in Girija, a wanderlust Maheswhwari in a Sarong & fully loaded version of Around the world accessories by Nirupama.
Rotarians, have you been thinking that your Anns sense of dressing lacks adventure? Please check out the photographs at www.rcmic.org>>photo album>>Anns meets, they will prove you wrong!!
Ann Anjana took the first prize as anticipated for the attire section.. The prize , a food basket with an imaginative mix of spaghetti, olive oil, spices & chocolates. (Anjana will send invitations to all, shortly to try out the spaghetti & chocolates, we hope )
Plenty of thought & meticulous planning is required to organize a party & if you’re building a theme into it your job is twice as difficult. Right from the selection of the exotic “Arnold Palmer” (Welcome drink), the lunch menu & the games to their near perfect execution, Minakshi’s effort was evident & is definitely praise worthy. Great company, global cuisine, a generous hostess & a glamorous setting… what more can an invitee ask for!

Anns Meet hosted by Anjali
Unusually it was a pleasant day in Chennai. The attendance of Anns of Industrial City was also high on the Saturday afternoon of 28th June. The reason could be the hospitality of Ann Anjali or the large spread that was awaiting the Anns .
Incoming first lady made the usual coffee meet to a lunch meet . The Anns slowly started coming in from 1230 hours and it was about 1400hrs when all of them gathered. Since we all were meeting after a very long time we had a lot of "vambu" sessions leaving very less time to discuss the projects for the next year. Hence it was decided to make this meet a purely "FUN MEET" and discuss the new and on going projects in the next meet.
There was a quiz on the traditional dresses of the various states and it was very enlightening for many of us. Ann Minakshi Anand took away the first prize. There was also a surprise gift for the first person to reach Ann Anjali's house which went to Ann Usha Agarwal. The meeting had a festive atmosphere with all the Anns making plans for the Installation Day and analysing the Invitation card which was like a typical marriage invite.
We all look forward to a lovely year ahead !!
