Weekly meeting on August 21,2009
Our regular weekly meeting was held on AUGUST 21,2009 at Hotel Radha Regency this being the first family get together for the Rotary year 2009-10.The speaker of the day was
Mr.K.S.Kalyan Krishnan Head of Customer Service Operations,(South) for Aircel Ltd.He spoke on Customer Service.PP Srini introduced the speaker.Mr.Kalyan Krishnan while speaking said that telecom revolution started in our country in 1985 and it has grown ever since.He traced the emergence of paging service and cellular phone service in our country.Paging service was started in the year 1989 and it was a one way communication.Cellular phone service was started in 1994 initially in 4 metros(Delhi,Bombay,Calcutta and Madras) and it has been proved that there are no health hazards brom cellular phones.When the mobile services were launched it was a possession of the elite in the soceity and now even ordinary people have mobile phones.Mobile phone cost is the lowest in our country in terms of cost per minute when compared with other countries.Now we are coming to a system of mobile number portability under which a customer can retain their mobile number irrespective of cellular phone service provider.Teledensity in our country is now 42% and it is growing.Then there was an interactive session with the speaker.After this a new member was inducted.
Mr.Krishnan was inducted as a new member in RCMIC family.He was introduced to the audience by PP Suresh and PP Sridhar inducted him as a new member.Krishnan has been inducted under the clasification Transport Solution Provider.Later good wishes and bon voyage were offered to PP Suresh,IPP Ram and Sundar Mohan who are proceeding to Vienna to take part in an international Tennis Tournament.Vote of thanks was given by Rajasekaran which was followed by fellowship and dinner.We thank President Subbu for sponsoring this family meet.

Regular meeting on August 14,2009
Our regular weekly meeting was held on August 14,2009 at Hotel Radha Regency.The speaker was Rtn.Dr.Sankar,Associate Professor of Parasitology at Madas Vertinary College.He spoke on 'Pet Animals'.The speaker was introduced by Rtn.Rajasekaran.Dr.Sankar spoke that the job of a vertinarian in treating animals is more tough than treating human beings.People keep pets like dogs to guard their homes and pet owners treat their pets like children.Pet owners are sensitive to their pets'needs and wants and treat their pets accordingly.Pets greatly helps in reducing one's tension(in day to day life)He went on to say that utility dogs like German Shepherds,Labradors,Dobermanns are used in bomb detection,detection of narcotics etc.because of their strong sense of smell.He said that proper care of pets should be taken .A system of proper vaccination against animal diseases at appropriate time and medications to be followed in case of their pets'illness should be followed by pet owners.He went on to describe the diseases caused by pets to humans and by humans to pets and the care to be taken by pet owners to prevent these diseases.That the speech was interesting could be seen by a lively interactive session with the speaker following the speech.(To sum up -pets are great tension busters) Vote of thanks was proposed by Rtn.Suresh.The meet was well attended by rotarians and two prospective members.

Installation of office bearers of Rotaract club of Bhaktavatchalam Memorial College for Women
The installation meeting of Rotaract Club of Bhaktavatchalam Memorial College for Women(BMC) at Korattur was held on August 7, 2009.The chief guest for the occasionwas
Rtn PP Chidambarakumar,District Associate Chairman-Rotaract Committee.Invocation song was rendered by Rtr.Divya.The gathering was welcomed by the Rotaract. President Rtr.Aishwarya. Secretary Rtr.Bhavani presented the report for the year 2008-09.President Aishwarya introduced Rtr Durga the incoming President for the year 2009-10 and duly installed her as the Rotaract President for the year 2009-10.Durga after her acceptance speech introduced her team of office bearers and they were installed as ofice bearers by Rtn.PP Chidambarakumar.Rtr.President Durga administered oath of office to her office bearers.The Principal of BMC felicitated the team of office bearers to perform better than the past.The chief guest was introduced by our club President Subbu.In his key note address Rtn PP Chidambarakumar spoke in detail how Rotaract movement was started in 1968 by Rotary International to inculcate leadership quality amongst youth for a better world.He stressed the need for taking the rotaract movement as a platform for the self development of an individual.Rtr.Solomon Victor, DRR spoke about the importance of fellowship and friendship amongst rotaractors and how rotaract movement and individual rotarians moulded him to perfcction.Later vote of thanks was given by Rtr.Manju and the meet concluded with national anthem.

RCMIC meet on August 7,2009
The regular weekly meeting of our club was held on August 7 ,2009 at Hotel Radha Regency.
The speaker of the day was Mr.J.Chandrasekaran Public Relations Officer, REACH Foundation,
a non governmental organization which renders help in preserving heritage sites and antiquities.
He was introduced by our Secretary Rajasekaran.The chief guest spoke on 'Preservation
of Heritage'.and how people and organization like Rotary International can help to preserve
our wonderful cultural heritage and legacy.He also gave instances how a rotary club in our district
adopted a village and helped in renovating a dilapidated temple from falling into a ruin. It was
a thought provoking talk by Mr.Chandrasekaran.The vote of thanks was given by IPP.Ram
and the meeting culminated with national anthem.
