2007-08 Club service Details

1. Regular Meetings & Installations
   1. Regular Meetings :Regular meetings were conducted where guest speakers from various fields were invited for talking on different subject.
   2. The Installation and other projects were also carried out along with the regular meetings.
      1. 13th July : Installation Nite: at Hotel Green Park
         i.Installation of the Office bearers for the Rotary Year 2007 - 08 . Chief Guest was DG .A.S.Venkatesh.  Dr. Sanjay M Cherian was the Guest of Honor and he had extended his medical team support for the projects executed by the Rotary . This was well attended by the many Rotarians from our RI Dist 3230. Meeting ended with Fun and Fellowship. 
   3. 20th July : Installation of Board of Rotaract Club Of Vishwahitha. Chief Guest Rtn.K.Vaidyanathan, Rotract Chair. Rtr. Dhanasekar was installed as the President.
   4. Installation of Interact Clubs of Government Higher Secondary School, Ayanambakkam
2. Greetings:
   1. All birthdays & wedding anniversaries of Rotarians, Anns & Annets were celebrated during the regular club meetings by recognizing the concerned.
   2. Further to the above, greeting cards were also sent followed by a call from the Greetings Chairman of the club wishing the concerned at their residence.
3. ANNS CLUB
   1. The Ann’s of this Club were meeting on a regular basis on the nominated day and had lot of fun during the meeting.
   2. The ann’s of the Club were fully involved in all Service Projects and contributed liberally for all the projects.
4. Monthly Family Fellowship : Family fellowship were conducted every month with themes for every meet.
   1. 31st Aug : Family Fellowship meeting. Theme Hawaiian Nite .New member Induction. Three new members added. Chief Guest DGE. A.Subramanium. Topic District Administration
   2. Family & Board Meeting at Yelagiri Trip 29th & 30th September. 45 members of the Rotary family which included 17 Rotarians & their families embarked on a trip to Yelagiri for a Family fellowship trip.The activities included site seeing, trekking, games, camp fire, Boating etc. 45 seater bus was arranged to transport the families from Chennai.
   3. 16th November : Regular Speaker meet. Chairman Rotary Foundation. Mr.Raju spoke on Rotary Foundation activities
   4. c. 24th November Foundation Month Celebration. Family Fellowship Dinner meeting at Radha Regency. Chief Guest DG. Venkatesh. Guest of Honor PDG J.B.Kamdar. The club was awarded for highest per capita contribution in the district for the previous year.
   5. DGN's Nite in April 2008 by the poolside in Presidency hosted by DGN Anand & Minakshi
5. New member Induction
   1. Rtn.M.D.Suresh Kumar introduced by Rtn.Sundar Mohan joined the club under the classification “Industrial Flooring”.
   2. Rtn. Shravan Kumar introduced by Rtn.Praveen Hariram
   3. Rtn.Rajasekar introduced by Rtn.S.Sreenivasan
   4. Rtn.Dilli Babu introduced by Rtn. Dhandapani
6. International Family Fellowship Trip
   1. This international family fellow ship trip was organized to srilanka, a five days trip from 12th October to 17th. There were 19  members. Illakkiya and Piays were the only ants. Rt. Prakash and Rt. Prasad and Rt. Srinivasan were the bachelors.
   2. We had  a joint meeting and fellowship with the “Rotary club of Nuwara Eliya “. Visits were organized to the  tea factory for  tasting the original Ceylon tea.  We attend a cultural dance program which exhibited the traditional dances and culture of Srilanka
   3. 15th October : Joint Meeting with Rotary Club of Nuwara Eliya at Nuwara Eliya, Srilanka. 19 Rotarians, Anns & Annettes from our club visited Sri Lanka for 6 days.   
   4. We met Rotarians from our sister club Rotary Club of Colombo Downtown.
      We also had an informal get together in Rtn.Aravind’s house on 13th October along with Rotarians from his club & our sister club.

7. Club Rooster :

   1. The Club Rooster was released on 21st October. 3 copies were given to each member. 2 sets were sent to the district and also our parent club R C Of Ana Nagar and the sister club R C Club of Down town & R C of Tirupattur               -
8. Participation In District Projects
   1. 2nd November : District Deepavali Celebrations at Sathya Studios
   2. 11th November : Our club secured the second place in VAIGARAI, a District Rotary Talent competition held at MGR Janaki college in Adayar. The club stage a variety entertainment program with a Theme “Rotary Shares”.
   3. Participation of Rtn. Ram at Russion Culture center - Rotary Life Time achievement  Award on 20th October.
   4. 8 Rotarians had registered for the Presidential Conference on 11th Dec from our club.
   5. 11 members from our club has registered for the Banquet with the R I President on 11th Dec.
      b. There  was 100% registration of Rotarians from our club and also 6 ann’s who have registered for the conference .
9. Governor’ s Visit
   1. During Governor’s visit many projects were launched and Literacy program for the people around the Vanagaram village where our 365 day meal scheme is located was inaugurated by our DG .
   2. Tri cycle for physically challenged girl child was handed over by Our Ann’s club’
   3. US $ 1600 was handed over to the DG and also a commitment by Rtn N Suresh Kumar to pay U S $ 100 per month towards Rotary Foundation was made.
   4. Sports items were distributed to sector 3 primary school in mogappair
10. Joint Meetings
    1. Joint meeting with RC of Anna Nagar and R C of Down town and the topic discussed was Ramasethu and the guest speaker was Mr. M Subramaniam retired Sr. vice President. The meeting was followed by fellowship and dinner
    2. Joint meeting with the clubs of Zone 1 where there was a cultural evening by the visiting GSE TEAM from MEXICO on 27.02.08 at Alumini Club.
11. Outstation Trips
    1. The Rotarians had a trip to Aliyar & Topslip during Feb 15th to 17th.
    2. Yelagiri
    3. Sri Lanka
12. Charter Nite Celebrations
    1. Family participation on Charter nite & Women’s Day celebration on March 08 where the past presidents were honored . The past presidents shared their important events and projects  during their year and also explained how they supported to  the club’s growth.
    2. The day happened to be Women’s day as we  give due respect to our Ann’s we had an interesting interactive session with the Annets & Rotarians.
