Weekly meeting on May 28, 2010
We had our regular weekly meeting on May 28,2010 at Hotel Radha Regent. Our
Club President welcomed the speaker of the day Rtn. PDG. Bruce Allen from Rotary
District 9680 (Sydney-Australia) and also the visiting Rotarians.
Rtn. PDG. Bruce Allen spoke about the Rotary and more particularly about Rotary
Foundation and Fund Raising for the club projects. He also shared his experience of
various fund raising programmes they conducted in Australia. His club managed to collect
400,000 Australian Dollars for the ‘Tsunami Relief’ within a day. He also talked about
various RI projects and utilization of funds for the needy projects.
Our Past President Rtn. Ram made a ‘PPT’ presentation about our club various projects
and activities. Rtn. PDG. Bruce Allen appreciated the projects and expressed his desire to
work with our club for the future projects.
Secretary Rtn. A.N. Rajasekaran offered birthday & wedding anniversary greetings
and also vote of thanks. Rtn. PP. Sudheendran handed over the memento to the
speaker of the day.

Weekly meeting on May 21, 2010
We had our regular weekly meeting on May 21,2010 at Hotel Radha Regent. Our Rtn.M.D.Suresh Kumar spoke on the subject Mosquito Killing System(MKS).Our President Subbu welcomed the gathering and briefed the members about the rotary events taking place in our club and district. Then Suresh Kumar spoke about MKS.This is an electrical equipment to kill mosquitoes This is a product that resulted from the collaboration of NASA and private industry. This system emanates different body heat signatures and breathing (carbon dioxide) of poultry,livestock,humans etc.The MKS alternates every 6 to 9 minutes producing different body signatures. Mosquitoes which are attracted by the scent approaches the machine and they are electrocuted after they are vacuumed into the machine. This equipment is basically designed for outdoor use and the recommended usage is at the rate of one machine per acre (43560 sq.ft) of open space where mosquito breeds.Rajasekaran offered birthday and wedding anniversary greetings.
